Dragon Warrior monsters cross stitch 2: Red Slime

The ever-so-slightly tougher cousin to the regular Slime, the Red Slime is also one of the first enemies to be fought in Alefgard. The minor increase in power over the Slime is compensated by a doubling of the gold obtained.

I’m stitching these Dragon Warrior monsters on 11 count Aida fabric. Primarily to use it up; when the wife and I began our xmas cross stitch a while back I picked up a few pieces of it in case she wanted to start with the largest size available. She had never done and needlework before, but it turned out not to be necessary and it’s been sitting in the closet ever since. I also thought a larger stitch might emphasize the blockiness of these NES sprites. The results are quite a bit larger than I had expected, and use an awful lot more thread than I’m used to. I rather like the effect, though, so I’m going to stick with it.
