Dragon Warrior monsters cross stitch 5: Magician
Probably the first monster you’ll run into with the ability to cast spells, the Magician can easily send you back to the king in a coffin if you’re not careful. His physical attacks don’t do do that much harm, but when he casts Hurt it will always take off a few HP.
The Magician line of monsters really appealed to me as a kid. Something about that big dark cloak and beady eyes really grabbed me. I was also drawn to magic users, the kind that could firebomb a town rather than heal the wounded. I’d be similarly drawn to Final Fantasy‘s black mage in a year or so when I got that game.
