Dragon Warrior monsters cross stitch 8: Skeleton

Found occasionally near the Mountain Cave and particularly in the desert south of Kol the Skeleton is more than capable of kicking the crap out of you with nothing but his bony fists. More than once I’ve been certain of my speedy victory only to scrape through a battle against these undead creatures with only the barest of margins. Pretty good for a fleshless monster in tights.

These too, have survived to the present crop of Dragon Quest games with little change. Skeletons of several varieties can be found in Dragon Quest VIII, though they’re fortunate enough to all have a sword.

A note regarding the construction of these cross stitch beasts. I have been filling in the white portions of the monster itself with floss, though it need not be absolutely necessary given the background fabric is white as well. Early on I decided the use of white floss would give these monsters a bit of extra presence and shimmer. I think that it was a wise move, particularly with a creature such as this who depends on that white.
