Happy Mac icon cross stitch

Not content to restrict myself to classic NES game sprites I started to think of other simple, blocky images I might render in cross stitch. “Icons!” I thought excitedly, quite pleased with myself for this realization. After amassing a fair number of images in my cross stitch ideas folder I decided the best introductory stitch would be the friendly face that greeted Mac users as they booted up their OS. The color OS 9 version narrowly beat out the black and white Classic version.
This particular one was wrapped blindly alongside a number of tiny last-minute Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda cross stitches that I gave at random to guests at a Xmas party I attended. I honestly don’t know who got what anymore, but I hope he (or she) loves it nearly as much as I did. One day I aim to replicate this one for my own personal collection.

1 I can’t say with any certainty what colors I used to depict the red and green lights. I had a number of leftover scraps laying about from which I picked workable red and green bits. Use whatever color here you think best, or whatever you happen to have laying about yourself.

This is cute. I just started cross stitch and am searching for a Mac cross stitch software. Your site came up. :)
