I don't come down to where you work and slap the dick out of your mouth.
A classic way of telling someone to butt out in the most crude and horrific way possible. While a great saying in its own right, I probably wouldn’t be making it as a Christmas gift were it not for the GloboChem sketch from Mr. Show.
I laid this one out by hand on graph paper and the little floral strips are largely freehanded. I had no real idea what to do so I just grabbed a few colors and ran with it. I would’ve liked to do something more interesting, but I just didn’t have any ideas.
Because I can’t seem to remember in what sizes frames come, I end up with stuff that isn’t easily finished. This one takes up roughly 6″ × 8″ and they don’t make frames in that size. So I found a mat that was close and trimmed it to fit in the frame I had already bought. Didn’t turn out too badly.
It’s almost TOO awesome.
Aww geez! Y’all are too kind. And having Julie Jackson come over to my little, poorly-maintained blog to say something nice is really making me blush. I wouldn’t be doing any of this stuff were it not for you.
Maybe when I look at it again in a few years—I just saw some of the stuff I made back in 2006 for the first time since and it looked great—I’ll be able to look at it without thinking “Gee, if only I had done this…” I’d like to see it with a smaller type and a more elaborate border.
You are my new stitching inspiration! I showed this to my whole family and was treated to a three-computer serenade of Kathy Griffin’s infamous recitation of this hilariousness. Thanks for making my whole family giggle like fourteen year olds.
It was serendipitous that the whole Kathy Griffin bit happened in such proximity to my post. I’d had this phrase knocking around my head as a stitch idea for years. I think it was one of the first ones I thought of doing after I picked up Subversive Cross Stitch but it took me about 2 years to finally put it to thread.
ha! that’s the best thing i ever saw.
I can’t believe I’ve never seen this before. That’s mighty funny, my friend.
Yeah, stitching a movie quote is really funny… must be a genius for sure.
I think it’s incredible and I wish I could hire your brain. Sheer genuis.
