Let's go!

Let's go!

  1. Let's go!
  2. Let's go!

This one is for @iamdiddy who uses the medium of Twitter to spread positive energy throughout the universe. Or something like that. This is one of his catch phrases—though he typically uses a few more exclamation marks than I am comfortable using myself.

The alphabet is from a >100 year old pamphlet archived in the Antique Pattern Library. I had to draw the apostrophe and exclamation mark myself. I’m pleased with the apostrophe, the exclamation mark less so. Initially I thought I might use one of the variegated floss colors, but the size of each individual letter led me to think that something else might be better. So: the gradient.

Colors used (DMC)

  • 792 – Cornflower Blue Dark
  • 798 – Delft Dark
  • 799 – Delft Medium
  • 794 – Cornflower Blue Light
  • 800 – Delft Pale
  • 775 – Baby Blue Very Light
  • 3756 – Baby Blue Ultra Very Light

I love it!
I just used that alphabet for the pattern I submitted to the anticraft for the issue coming out in July. I think it would have benefited from what you’ve done with the colors here. I think the exclamation point looks fantastic, myself.
Well done, sir!
