Mr. Fancy

This is a line from Merlin “hotdogsladies“ Mann’s not-necessarily-a-productivity-site website 43 Folders. Actually it’s a subheading that comes up about halfway through a recent (and rather long-winded) article titled “Free as in ‘Me’.” It’s an excellent bit of work, and inspiring as hell, but what really stuck in my head was this one little line. It made me chuckle.

So, I added it to my list of things I might want to consider cross stitching one day. I thought it was cute enough, but that I probably had better things to do. But every time I looked at that list this quote made me chuckle again. Far beyond the length of time I thought it really should. I figured that meant I’d better go ahead and stitch it.

This is the first time I’ve ever used Light Effects floss in a project. In short, it was a tremendous pain in my ass. I love the way it looks though. In the end, I’d say using it was a net positive.
