McDonalds will make you fat [they serve Big Macs] they serve Quarter Pounders they will put pounds on you
And now for something completely different.
These video game cross stitches are fine and dandy. It’s fun to take something out of a modern context and render it in an folksy medium. It’s a tad clever and a tiny bit subversive and good old fashioned fanboy fun.
The thing is, that’s just about all I’ve done for the past two years. Sure, I made a bunch of Subversive Cross Stitch stuff that first Christmas, but ever since it’s been all video games and Apple stuff. I came across this sampler on Flickr one day that was based on the artwork of Craig Robinson and I saw Wesley and I thought it’d be great to do something with his lyrics.
And so I did. These are from Rock N Roll McDonalds though Wesley fans will notice that I’ve cut a line out. I thought it’d look better with only three lines, having more of a haiku sort of feeling. Also “they serve Big Macs” is quite a bit shorter than the other lines.
By they way, the title of this song refers to an actual place in Chicago. It’s really called the Rock N Roll McDonalds.
This is excellent!
